Updates are good. Changes are good.
Constant updates, changes = dynamic, non static, non stagnant
Which is a good thing.

Those who cannot cope with the changes, updates, ought to take a break from playing too much of Guild Wars, and go read the book titled:
"Who moved my cheese?"

Cheers to ARENANET.
Cheers to the developers of Guild Wars.

Boo to the ones who complain of the changes.

I tried playing Illusion.. absolutly nothing has changed. Maybe one or two builds are no longer "[email protected] " but hey that only lets the other more original builds shine. Most of the people who complain are those who, when knocked down, prefer to simply stay down and trip everyone who wants to get by. Instead of, ofcourse, taking some effort to get back up.

Sheesh. Farming is not dead. Stop using cookie cutter Monk templates and find a different build. I've been farming everywhere except UW and FOW with my Ranger with no problems and I dont even have a Monk secondary.

Besides UW and FOW wasnt really meant to be solo farmed... Don't get me wrong, if I could solo farm there I would. But I'm not ticked off that I can't anymore either.

I have to agree with you there. While I have no problem with soloing or minimal group player/henchie size, I don't think UW/FoW should be solo'd. And especially not by a single class combo.

I don't use a 55hp build on my monk. When I want to go solo or minimum group I take my ranger. I find the ideas behind the 55hp build interesting, but out of balance. I have a lot of respect for the initial group who managed to get what was going on there.

I like the skill update changes a lot. I really think it has balanced classes a lot more. It has made PvE a bit more challenging, and that was definitely called for. Something for us all to consider is that not only were some builds weakened, but (in PvE) mops have had their skills buffed or adjusted as well. So it's not only that there is a slowdown in the 55hp build, but some of the mops it faces are sharper. I really applaud the Dev Team. I think there was a lot of clever thinking going on with this update.

I play Dom/Illusion and I'm not even very high in all my fields. 12 at most. So if your having problems at just getting one field...wow...

I have no sympathy.

So go ahead, flame all you like. All you prove is your own ignorance.

Hex breaker is now COMPLETELY useless in PvE. Recharge 15 seconds?? In that time those two heretics and three gnashers will have hexed you 10 times and only one of the hexes get blocked instead of 5+. And that L28 monk boss? Now he'll have all the energy he jolly well wishes because you can't steal energy worth a damn any more.
Yeah, I agree with you, they've really made my PVE mesmer bad. There are other energy stealing moves, but... it's just not the same.

I don't like the update simply because of the nerfs, it is absolutely pathetic how Anet seemly bends over backwards to kiss the Guildwar whiners ass, it literally makes me want to puke. How can anyone have respect for a company that is lead around by the hands of crybaby sector of it's community?

They just don't get it I mean the more they reward the whiner the more they will whine for more and the nerfs will continue.

Why don't they just stop the BS and give every class 8 skills the exact same skills across the board and so one can complain. Hell the way things are going eventually that's where we are headed anyway.

It has been stated many many times that the Mo/Wa is not the only class combo that can solo the underworld. Depending on how creative you are...and ultimately how good you are(with the exception of Monks) you can solo the underworld(or atleast the section of the UW that the Monks do) with any class.

lets boil this update down a bit. spamming skills to be invulnerable and shut people down cheaply = nerfed. thought = required. the end.

Periodic change of the skills, like Darwinism, guarantees that those who can adapt will thrive while those who rely on copy-cat builds will fall. I have no problem with that.

No update ever "killed farming." I farm as much as anyone out there and have been affected my most updates, but it's really no big deal. It just encouraged me to make changes and experiment with new ideas - which I happen to enjoy. Frankly, I'd be really bored if I found myself playing the same balanced build every day for the next several months.

Anyone claiming that an update "killed farming" only exposes them as a copy-cat builder.

No but I have been around since the gaming industry was sucking on a pacifier and I can tell you the two reasons why the big boys like ID, Epic, Valve, Blizzard, EA, never listen to the whiner sector of their gaming communities.

1, That sector is generally made up of the weakest skilled players, the most non playing players, and band wagon jumpers.

2, This the most important reason of all, they are ALLWAYS the minority in the community.

I disagree strongly that ArenaNet has catered to "whiners". There were aspects of the game that needed toning down and some that needed to be more viable and looking at the changes I feel that they have done this very well. In a game like this the ideal situation is that there is never a skill or a handful of skills that are shoe-ins for a specific build or character type. For instance, before the patch the majority of my healing builds had Energy Drain and Hex breaker on their bars, now I sometimes have builds with OoB, Holy Veil and yes, even Divine Spirit!

I haven't played in the tombs much since the patch, but I've played alot in Team Arenas and some GvG, and I've noticed much more variety in the builds being run. Its really nice seeing people trying new things.
